There are some couples who leave a lasting impression, and Lauren and Mike are undoubtedly one of them. Their July 2024 wedding at Steamboat Resort was a beautiful balance of elevated design and laid-back mountain charm. With 120 guests traveling in for their destination wedding in Steamboat Springs, the weekend unfolded as a thoughtful, joyful celebration from start to finish.
The festivities began with an intimate rehearsal dinner at Café Diva, followed by a welcome party at Saddles within the Steamboat Sheraton.
Both venues are conveniently located at the base of the mountain, which made it easy for guests to flow between events while soaking in the Colorado summer atmosphere. Their photographer, Karra Leigh, was there throughout, capturing heartfelt toasts, laughter, and mountain views in a way that felt both intimate and editorial.
On the wedding day, guests boarded the gondola to the top of the mountain, where they were greeted with champagne before the ceremony. The couple was married on Thunderhead Lawn, framed by panoramic views and a custom floral arch by Unbound Floral Design. A close friend officiated, adding another layer of warmth and authenticity to a ceremony already rich in meaning. From the very beginning, Lauren and Mike envisioned a day that felt personal, timeless, and welcoming—and they achieved just that.
The Champagne Powder Room set the stage for an elegant reception, which we helped transform with soft draping by Colorado Event Rentals, refined gold chiavari chairs, and elevated tablescapes from Bell Productions Co. A mirrored seating chart and bespoke signage from BoCo Designs were some of our favorite design details of the day—thoughtful touches that tied the experience together. The floral palette of soft whites and greens added to the sense of understated sophistication, perfectly complementing the warm wood tones of the space.

Dinner was followed by dancing and a few surprises, including a late-night delivery of Dairy Queen Blizzards—a sweet nod to the groom’s favorite dessert. The energy in the room was unmatched thanks to TH Entertainment, whose DJ Fusion experience blended live musicians with a curated set, creating a dynamic and immersive atmosphere. Guests also enjoyed a live trio during cocktail hour, and Always A Bride Events provided content creation throughout the day, capturing behind-the-scenes moments and shareable clips for the couple to enjoy beyond the traditional photo and video.
Even when a surprise weather delay shut down the gondola for part of the evening, the celebration never missed a beat. Thanks to thoughtful planning, a fantastic vendor team, and an atmosphere full of love and energy, guests were completely unaware—proof that a well-executed plan makes all the difference.
Lauren and Mike live locally in Denver but have a deep love for Steamboat Springs—a place they affectionately refer to as “Dreamboat.” It made perfect sense for them to bring their closest friends and family to this special corner of Colorado for a celebration that reflected their style, values, and shared history.
